Hi Kim,
I saw your blog and also saw that you have studied traditional music and especially dan bau in Vietnam. I am now finishing a documentary about Vietnamese religion (Caodaism) in which we want to use a few simple dan bau elements to accompany scenes of meditation and visions. We want to find a US based musician who could allow us to use some of her recorded music in the documentary. You sound ideal, so we would love to be in contact with you.
My name is Janet Hoskins and I am a Professor of Anthropology at USC (see my faculty website at http://www.usc.edu/dept/elab/anth/FacultyPages/hoskins.html or http://www.usc.edu/schools/college/faculty/faculty1003365.html
Our documentary is called "The Left Eye of God: Caodaism Travels from Vietnam to California" Please write to me at jhoskins@usc.edu to let me know if you might be interested in providing some music for this project.
I hope to hear from you soon!
Janet
